Nobody's Fool

Isn't dating the bomb? And isn't dating the biggest, darkest, most exhausting nightmare of your life? It all depends on who you're dating and how you approach it.

For me, dating is the bomb. I'm in a long-term relationship with a good looking Jewish guy and we actually get along. What! Deal with that!

But when romance it's rough, is the worst. I've seen some whack shit go down. The ceremonial rationalizing of why your creepy friend only summons you to drive to their house at 2am to "hang out, and, ya know, watch a movie*". Attempting to wrap your brain around your significant other's sudden shift in sexual preference (this has happened to two male acquaintences within the last year and has not led to any gross threesomes or orgies, just divorce and anguish). Rambling on for an hour about "one day" this and "one day" that, then going home and turning your phone all the way up and putting it next to your head in case it rings and you happen to be in REM sleep.

*Note: My friend Monica and I share an affinity for being invited over to "watch a movie". If you hear those three words transmitted to your brain from the opposite sex, put your guard up. Go pick up a big bottle of Mt. Dew and some condoms because you're in for a boring night of flirting and maybe doing it.

Good news, "one day" isn't coming. Just take this simple advice now and apply it to your particular romantic situation: if the person you are interested in isn't acting the same way that you are towards them, towards you, they aren't interested. Time to go to the club or hit up eHarmony and find yourself some new tail to lead on until you're ready to love again!
